This late Victorian oak library bookcase is in good, solid condition for its age, with a warm patina and characterful grain throughout. There is a Slight crack to one edge of the upper cabinet, consistent with age and use, which does not affect its stability. The original lock on the glazed doors has been replaced with a later handle and discreet magnetic catch for ease of use. One of the base cupboard keyholes is missing its escutcheon, leaving the surrounding wood slightly worn, but this is purely cosmetic. Overall, it remains a handsome and well-preserved example, ready for use and display.
