Overall: This antique bookcase is in good, sturdy condition with a rich, dark patina to the oak.
Carvings: The Green Man foliate carvings remain sharp and expressive; however, there is some minor, age-related chipping to the high points of the carvings (notably around the foliate "beards"), which is typical for a piece of this age and does not detract from the overall aesthetic.
Shelving: The interior features original adjustable shelf fittings; however, the shelves have been modified at some stage to be fixed in their current position and are no longer adjustable.
Wear: General surface marks, minor scuffs, and historical wear consistent with over 100 years of use.
